SGB Leak Detection Equipment

Specialists in over and under pressure leak detection technology for single and double walled tanks.

Founded in 1962, SGB invented the vacuum leak detection system for single skinned tanks. Today the German manufacturer has more than 40 different types of leak detectors with more than 100 variations.

SGB Leak Detection Systems aim to provide a leak-free and monitored environment. SGB measurement units use either pressure or vacuum monitoring technology for accurately testing double walled tanks and pipes whilst in service.

Each system gives a visual and audible alarm indication before any stored product can enter the environment and cause environmental pollution.

SGB systems are approved to prEN 13160 as Class 1 Leak Detection Systems and are approved as safe technology for the monitoring of:

Double walled tanks and double walled pipes on petrol stations.

Heating or Fuel Oil storage tanks fitted with double bottoms or fully double skinned.

Why Engineers choose SGB

  • Leak Detection Equipment for many applications including; petrol stations, tanks with linings, bulk storage tanks (flat bottom tanks) with double bottom,
chemical plants, refineries, tank farms and oil drilling rigs.
  • Reliable Pressure and Vacuum leak detection
  • Test liquids from -55 C to +55 C
  • Safe in environments with specific chemically aggressive liquids or explosive environments.

Listed below are some of the SGB products which Orange County Supply.

Aboveground or underground tanks that bulk store any type of water polluting liquid. For example in tank farms, chemical plants or refineries.

Pressure leak detector with integrated pump within the plastic housing for the monitoring of several underground tanks or one aboveground tank.

Type with alarm pressure in mbar:

Tanks:

  • Double walled cylindrical laying tanks with a non-permeable inner wall and a test pressure of the interstitial space of 500 mbar, e.g. DIN 6608, 6616 or EN 12285 or other approved tanks

Liquids: water polluting liquids, e.g.: gasoline, petrol, methanol, kerosene, jet, diesel

Germany: Z – 65.23 – 409, CE marked, in accordance to EN 13160, Class I

Accessories as manifolds, tank adapters, are available for PVC hoses or PA (Polyamide) hoses and for copper tubing

Pressure leak detector with automatic refill function from a permanent connected inert gas (nitrogen) bottle, operation mode S for underground and aboveground installed pipes.

With selectable operation mode M without automatic refill function. In operation mode M only to be used for applications in which temperature changes in the connected pipework are low. E.g. underground pipes.

Types with alarm pressures in bar: DLR-G 1; DLR-G 2; DLR-G 3; … DLR-G 17; DLR-G 18

Double walled pipes or vessels out of metal or plastic for water polluting liquids: e.g. petrol, jet, methanol, diesel, chemicals, lye, acids

Germany: Z-65.26 – 349

Pressure leak detector with integrated pump.

Types with alarm pressures in bar: DLR-P 1.1; DLR-P 2.3; DLR-P 3.0

Double walled pipes or vessels.

Water polluting liquids: on pipes with a non permeable inner wall also liquids with a flash point below 55° Celsius, e.g. heating oil, diesel, engine oil, petrol, jet, methanol, lye, acid

Germany: Z-65.26 -349

Advantages: low maintenance in comparison to systems working with nitrogen.
